What Is Menthol？

Menthol is a monoterpenoid organic compound that occurs naturally in the oils of certain plants in the mint family, such as corn mint and peppermint. It is usually a colorless needle-like or prismatic crystal or a white crystalline powder with a characteristic minty aroma and an initial burning sensation followed by a cooling sensation. It is highly soluble in ethanol, chloroform, ether, liquid paraffin, or volatile oils, and very slightly soluble in water.
